Malinga stars as Sri Lanka beat England by 19 runs in Super Eights



Sri Lanka beat defending T20 champions England by 19 runs and reach the ICC World Twenty20 semi finals along with West Indies at Pallekele on Monday. England and New Zealand knocked out from the Tournament. 

England won the toss and elected to field first. Sri Lanka post 169 for 6 in 20 overs. Skipper Mahela Jayawardene made 42 from 38 balls and Angelo Mathews scored 28 runs. Stuart Broad take 3 wickets for 32 runs and Graeme Swann got 2-26.

In the chasing, England's top three guns fall in Malinga bowling. Lasith Malinga career best 5 for 31 helped Sri Lanka to restrict England to 150 for 9 in 20 overs. Malinga named as the Man of the Match award.
